Posted on September 16th, 2009

Many terms used in one culture, however, do not apply to contests that other cultures are familiar with. 2009 Pittsburgh Dragon Boat Challenge
Posted on March 9th, 2009
Dragon boat racing has its 2000-year-old roots in China and a strong 8-year tradition on the three rivers of Pittsburgh. Full of color and excitement, the races feature 44-foot boats with ornately carved and brightly painted dragon heads and tails. The boats hold up to 20 paddlers, plus a drummer and a steersperson, and race 500 meters with power generated by human muscle, heart, and timing.
